“Submissive” by Pramod Kurlekar
Oil on Linen, 30x43, Available for Purchase, $10,000
This painting is about surrendered quality of our being. In our busy, competitive life. We need something where we surrender ourselves in totality for deep relaxation. But it seems quite difficult because of our reserved attitude, which is a by product of our ego. Human ego is not likely to be surrendered or submissive at all, that is basic quality of it. Which keep us disconnected from the vast blissful existence. In point of our ego there is nothing worth to be surrendered at. Actually finding something worth to be surrendered at, is not as important as the understanding of surrendered quality itself. Ego is interested to make us a drop of the water which disconnected himself from the ocean wave. Being surrendered or submissive is totally opposite thing. Whenever we become submissive or surrendered in front of God, nature, person or any particular work, then It is evaporate our limited identity as a water drop and make us merge with eternal ocean. In this painting I have painted a girl with lotus, front of Buddha statue and tried to express the submissive quality of her being.
